Practice-a-thon Fundraiser

Melodies for Miracles • Jan 12 – Apr 19

Our studio will be participating in Melodies for Miracles, a regional practice initiative in partnership with the Suzuki Association of Greater Washington Area, benefiting Children’s National Hospital Emergency Room (ER).

Participation is completely optional. Students who choose to participate practice as usual and track their hours. Participating students are asked to have at least one sponsor, with all donations made directly through the official Children’s National platform. The studio does not collect money, and families may participate in a way that feels comfortable for them.

Why We’re Doing This

From time to time, it’s meaningful for students to experience their daily practice as something larger than personal progress alone.

This initiative connects steady, ordinary practice with an act of service—supporting children and families who are navigating medical emergencies.

Our hope is that students experience their practice not as pressure, but as contribution: something consistent, grounded, and quietly meaningful.

Quick Details

  • Dates: Jan 12 – Apr 19

What Is Melodies for Miracles?

Melodies for Miracles is a cross-studio practice initiative organized with the Suzuki Association of the Greater Washington Area (SAGWA) and Children’s National Hospital.

Participating students simply practice as they normally would. Their practice time is dedicated to supporting children receiving emergency medical care during the same period.

What This Means for Students

  • Practice continues as usual—no changes to assignments
  • Every minute counts toward the shared initiative
  • We track practice through the studio’s existing system
  • This is meant to add meaning—not add pressure

What Families Should Know

Our studio’s role is simply to participate as a community and track practice time. At the end, giving is done through the donation link by the sponsor directly.
