Traditional Violin Lessons

Instruction is led by Vivian Crespo-Almond, an experienced, university- and Suzuki-trained violin teacher who integrates Suzuki pedagogical principles with traditional approaches. In this supportive setting in Falls Church, VA, students develop clear fundamentals, musical sensitivity, and the confidence that comes from consistent, mindful practice.

Drawing on Suzuki principles—particularly listening, tone development, and attentive repetition—each lesson helps students build reliable technique while deepening their connection to the music they play. Students progress at an individual pace through thoughtfully chosen repertoire and ear- and heart-driven technical development, gaining both skill and artistice expression as they grow as musicians.

Ear & Reading Reinforce Each Other

  • Listen–then–read builds accurate intonation and beautiful tone more effectively than reading first.
  • Strong aural skills improve rhythm, ensemble awareness, and musical memory.
  • Reading grows faster when tied to sound — notes on the page connect to what students already hear and feel.

I offer a free evaluation lesson to meet your child, learn a bit about them, and discuss when they can begin lessons. It’s a warm, welcoming first step — no pressure and no preparation needed. Beginners don’t need to bring anything, and students who already play can bring their current music.
